Welcome To The
Elmwood Middle School
Take the Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge
Keep reading through the summer!!! it’s time to start thinking about the Scholastic Summer Reading program. Students currently in the 4th – 7th grade will be eligible for this program. The program is pretty much the same as last year, students must read at least 500 minutes throughout the 18 weeks of the program. Students can keep track of their reading minutes May 8th – September 8th. They may read WHATEVER they would like to read as long as they keep track of their time. This program can also work alongside other summer reading programs because they only need to log their minutes that they read each day.
To register for this program students need to see me for a username and password. Like last year this will get them into the website which along with being able to log their time, they may also play games, find book lists and earn other digital information according to their minutes logged. If a student does not have computer access, that is fine! They may log their time on paper and turn it in after Sept. 8th but they still need to see me so I can sign them up.
Last summer we had 19 middle school students complete the program. These students were invited to attend a lasagna party in September where they received T-shirts, $10 gift certificates for the Scholastic Book Fair and other fun prizes.
From infinity to beyond!
